Educating Yourself about the Dangers of Aerosols
Many people are still unaware of the potential dangers of aerosol sprays.
Although they provide many benefits for users and can improve your overall quality of living, aerosol products can cause severe harm that may even result in death to unaware and uneducated individuals who incorrectly use an aerosol can.
ACE
The Alliance for Consumer Education (ACE) takes its responsibility of educating the public about the potential risks that aerosols possess very seriously. Throughout the past two years, ACE has implemented a two phase plan to raise awareness about aerosol safety precautions.
How to stay Safe with Aerosols
The main message targeted by this awareness campaign is to expand ACE’s current Disease Prevention Programs and Inhalant Abuse Prevention and incorporate two new programs: Poison Prevention and Product Stewardship.
Both of these new programs are focused on educating consumers about aerosols, including how to correctly use, store, and dispose of these products. Hopefully, with proactive educational efforts, more adults and children will understand the proper care requirements of aerosol products.
Educating Yourself and Others
The most important part of keeping yourself and others around you safe is always labeling and correctly sealing dangerous products. Leaving opened aerosol sprays on a counter or a table could potentially be hazardous as young children could grab them and unintentionally harm themselves.
It’s also important to know how to correctly use a product before you purchase it. If you feel like a certain product that you wish to purchase could be harmful, do your own research and learn how to properly contain and store the product in a safe area.
Spread the Word
Spreading the word about taking necessary safety precautions when using potentially dangerous items can help you educate other around you and keep your loved ones safe.
Aerosol products are incredibly useful and consumers can use them to do anything from a DIY home improvement project to holding your hair in place; however, like every product, you need to understand the necessary safety precautions to take to keep yourself and others around you safe from harm.
