Aerosol Company Sustainability
In our last post, we talked about how many companies are changing the ways they manufacture their products to be more environmentally friendly.
In addition to changing the way that they manufacture products, companies have switched their energy sources, product composition, and manufacturing processes in order to become more sustainable.
The Eastern Aerosol Association
In fall of 2015, the Eastern Aerosol Association (EAA) held a meeting that focused on finding ways to increase industry sustainability. With the rapidly advancing aerosol industry, many companies became powerhouse producers, causing them to significantly increase the amount of natural resources they consumed.
The immense amount of resources collected and processed to fill consumer-aerosol demands made the EAA and other companies evaluate the aerosol industry’s growing environmental footprint.
Now, companies have started to consider how their company affects the human population and what kind of a global impact they have due to their resource consumption.
Sustainability Statements
This EAA meeting encouraged many companies to reconsider their business’s stance on its environmental impact and global sustainability.
It also encouraged companies to develop – or modify – sustainability statements. Several companies already had sustainability statements, and a few of the companies had recently switched to solar energy or wind energy to reduce their footprint.
Other aerosol companies – specifically in the fragrance supplier corporations – use natural materials and materials that are sourced from wastes. This helps drastically reduce the amount of wastes that other divisions of their company throw out!
Sustainability Product Advancement
Gary Knopeck has developed a chemical that reduces the amount of emissions of a common aerosol can – similar to saving 39 gallons of gasoline. Magnificent scientific developments such as this will continue to increase the level of aerosol resource sustainability in the consumer market.
As the aerosol industry continues to become more popular and consumer demand rises, aerosol companies need to persist in their environmental sensitivity and work towards becoming more globally aware.
