Advancements in Aerosol Packaging
Aerosol packaging contains many unique features that specifically tailor to aerosol spray needs.
Depending on the consistency of the aerosol substance, the can and packaging feature different components that properly contain and release the correct amount of product for consumers.
Expanding Aerosol Market
As consumer use for aerosol products expands, companies have needed to find new ways to store the different components in the container. For example, products such as hair spray now offer different textures and consistencies, meaning that the aerosol can’s design must adapt to keep up with the product’s dispensing needs.
Other products – such as dual chamber dispensers and 50-50 blend products – require separate storage compartments within the container. Companies that created these products have developed several different packages to contain them, but they haven’t been as successful at meeting these product needs as they had hoped.
Aerosol Packaging Success
In the past year, packaging development in multiple companies have successfully adapted aerosol cans and packaging to meet product requirements. Technological advancements now enable containers to separate products and dispense equal amounts of products when released.
In addition to new packaging styles, companies have developed powder liners to coat the inside of aluminum cans, which extend their shelf life and re-usability. Other harmful chemicals previous used in aerosols are no longer needed as the dispensing capabilities improve in efficiency.
Replenishing Bottles
Another significant advancement in the aerosol world is the development of Replenish Bottling. Replenish Bottling has developed a new way for consumers to mix their own concentrate of a specific product with household tap water. This recycling of the product will keep more bottles out of the landfill and reduce the amount of product waste per household.
Aerosol Environmental Sustainability
The main goal that companies have is to increase the sustainability and environmental friendliness of their products. Whether by reducing the amount of chemicals used in each aerosol product or by making products easy to reuse, aerosol packaging companies hope that they can increase the functionality of cans and dispensers.
